XPRT Creative kicks off with Valdosta State University Athletics

VALDOSTA, GA — XPRT Creative started work on Valdosta State University’s website to kick off 2007 as the first new project of the year for both organizations. The VSU website is slated to launch just in time for the fall sports seasons debut in August. The new website will feature a web-based content management system in addition to a modern, dynamic design.

According to VSU Sports Information Director Shawn Reed, the pending website is a welcome and much needed complement to the VSU Athletic Department activities. "In the world of collegiate athletics, a website has become the front door for fans and potential recruits." Reed stated. "The website will be an engaging and dynamic tool that will allow the Athletic Department to promote its student-athletes, coaches and teams to our fans and to those recruits who access it."

Currently, VSU boasts one of the top NCAA II Athletic Programs in the nation. Over the past few years, VSU has won national championships in several sports, and continues to head for the playoffs in nearly every sport, every year. "We are extremely excited about how this project will bring our website to among the best in the nation. Valdosta State has always prided itself on being one of the top NCAA Division II universities in the nation and at the conclusion of the project, when we are able to launch our new website, we feel we will have a site that establishes and promotes that belief."

The XPRT Creative team is uniquely qualified for this project. XPRT Creative President Jennifer Poyer, former two-sport collegiate all-american, athletic event manager and lifetime fan has spent time in the trenches on all sides of the university athletics field, and understands not only the dynamic of the university environment, but also the specialized needs of an athletic department. Reed agrees. "The XPRT Creative staff showed a full understanding of what we were looking for in our new website. They understood the multiple facets a website plays in collegiate athletics, from recruiting to public relations, and were able to meet and sometimes exceed every expectation we had through the initial stages of selecting a company." He noted. "On top of that, their price was unbeatable leading us to feel that we were getting top-notch service at a reasonable cost."

Reed has experience with a site redesign from his former employment. He has been complimentary of XPRT’s professionalism and flexibility from the beginning of the project. "There is definitely a lot of work involved with this project. Fortunately, I have been through the process before and understood some of what was needed for the project to be accomplished. What has amazed me is how organized and detailed the staff at XPRT Creative is. Their organization has definitely helped us as we have gathered the needed materials for the new website."

Poyer feels this is the perfect opportunity not only for VSU but for the XPRT team as well. "This project is going to be a lot of fun – this athletics stuff is close to my heart! – and I know it’s going to make a tangible difference for VSU players, fans, sponsors and other stakeholders. It’s just so cool to be in on the ground floor of a project like this, and I can’t wait till site launch!" Poyer said.
